The Black Crowes

Rich Robinson began his career in the rock music realm with the Southern-tinged band The Black Crowes. Along with brother and lead vocalist Chris Robinson, Rich rode a magnificent wave of success (both commercial and artistic) with the Crowes that lasted well over a decade. Beginning with their 1990 debut Shake Your Money Maker, the Black Crowes released six studio albums, a wealth of b-sides, two live albums (one with the legendary Jimmy Page) and embarked on countless successful world tours. However, by 2001 the band and its members found themselves burnt out with the structure of the Crowes and the band took an indefinite hiatus. Following two sold-out shows at the Orpheum Theatre in Boston, MA at the end of October, the Black Crowes made their hiatus public news and the Robinsons embarked on two very successful (and very different) solo projects. By early 2005, the brothers Robinson apparently felt the absence of one another strong enough to reunite the Black Crowes and embark on a short "reunion" tour, beginning with seven shows at New York City's Hammerstein Ballroom. Talk of a larger tour is presently making the rounds in the rumor mill.
