A Suggested Rating System for Submitting Writers
G) A G Rated Work has no violence (Beyond comedic cartoon stuff), and no intense themes. Usually defined as Fluff.
PG) A PG Rated Work has little violence, and maybe a few toilet jokes. (Nothing worse than Shrek though). It is also usually defined as Fluff.
PG-13) A Rated PG-13 Work has mild to mildly-intense violence. A few Lemon scene's, but no out-right description. (AKA, the characters disappear into the bedroom, and come out with mussed clothing, but no actually description of what goes on, though it is beyond obvious.) Usually defined as.... PG-13 now that I think about it!! *_~
Most Angst-Only works (the main character(s) are moping and sobbing about everything, and everything goes against them every way possible) goes in this catagory, unless the violence escalates.
R) An R Rated Work has intense violence, a semi-graphic Lemon scenes. (AKA, The two guys beat the living sh!t out of each other, and the one left standing goes and makes out with the girl in an descriptive scene. Note that I did NOT say sex. That's different.)
Suicide Angst, War Description, and anything that is mainly intense violence with little to no Lemon activities also belong in the R catagory.
Just for the sake of your sanity, and mine, the description of making out:
Making Out: A term used to describe anything more intense than cuddling, with most clothing articles on. Guys can be without shirts, but must need pants. Anything more intense, it goes straight to NC-17.
NC-17) An NC-17 Rated Work is the most graphic of the graphic. Violence may or may not be in the writing. It is not violence that gets a Work here, it is the amount of description given to the sex scenes.
If the scene is actively described (AKA, As used in the PG-13 example, the two characters go into the bedroom, but the entire scene is described.) it is NC-17.
Porn will not be accepted as a form of Work. There must actually be a story, not just Let's-See-How-Much-Description-I-Can-Put-Into-A-Sex-Scene. Those are porn, and are not recognized as forms of Work, just people daydreaming in front of a computer.
Hope this is helpful!!! It will certainly help me place the correct works with the correct Editors!!!
And please, give a definition of the Work's genere. Is it Humor, Angst, Sap, Fluff, or something else? That would also be a great help!!!
Oh, as a side note, in case any Writers were wondering, FanFiction and Essays are accepted.
