Spoiler removal
The original spoiler on the 200SX is very small and not very attractive, it also has a big problem, it traps water on the top which eventually leads to rust. I have decided to replace mine with an up rated item. The spoiler I have purchased is a Supra twin turbo style spoiler from Norris Designs which should look the part.
Removing the original spoiler is quite easy, first you will have to lift the boot and remove the panel (where the windscreen wiper motor is housed). Where you will find some nuts remove these. And squeeze the plastic clips holding the spoiler down. You may find that the spoiler is also stuck down with strips.

Note the rust on the bolts and clips on the spoiler below. Bad design fault!.
Preparation of the boot
Due to rust I had to fill the some parts of the boot, also the mounting holes for the original spoiler had to be filled in. This has proven not to be an easy task, if you are thinking of removing your original spoiler I would recommend that you have it professionally fitted.
First job was to sand down the bad parts of the boot. Then I had to fill the holes using a high quality fiber glass filler.
After I filled the boot it had to be sanded down, this takes quite some time to achieve a good finish, remember to take your time and not to rush it, as when the job is finished and you have sprayed it all impurities in the metal will be greatly exaggerated and will show up.

Before painting I made sure all areas that where likely to encounter over spray where covered with newspaper and masking tape. See pictures below.

Apply the primer evenly with only small quantities, several coats will be essential for a good finish.
Pictures below taken recently, notice also the smaller spoiler at the top of the back window. The two spoiler's look great together.
The spoiler is bolted down, and is also stuck. Feeding the cable through the spoiler for the break light, is a nightmare it took ages!!.
