Intercooler upgrade
An intercoolers purpose is to cool hot air generated from the turbocharger. When air is compressed, in this case to 10psi it become hot and less dense. The intercooler is basically the same as a water radiator, except air from the turbo passes through it instead. When air is cooler it is much more dense therefore more air can be forced into the cylinder head and more power is generated.
The intercooler on the Nissan 200 Sx is very restrictive, and is very small. It is located on the passenger side wing.
Left picture shows standard intercooler.
Right picture shows where the unit is mounted. (left wing)

The new intercooler is front mounted and is located in front of the water radiator. The trick is getting the pipes from the turbo to the intercooler. This kit is available from Norris Designs the intercooler is at least 5 times larger than the standard one. This combined with the T3 turbo with a slight adjustment to the timing will allow 18 PSI of boost without pinking!.
