
The Rakowicki and military cemeteries combined form an area almost the size of Krakow's old town. Often it is impossible to see signs of the living world past the cemetery, even in the winter when the trees are bare.

Some graves are adorned with statues of religious figures. The most humanistic--and probably the most interesting--are the angels.
