A QUICK TRANSLOADING LESSON
TRANSLOADING is making a COPY of a graphic or sound file, and MOVING it to YOUR OWN server.
In order to TRANSLOAD, you need to have a place to store your graphics & sound files. You must Sign up with a Free Homepage Provider like Geocities, Tripod, Angelfire, etc. This is a FREE service, and takes only minutes to do. Once you have signed up, you will have an Account name & password. Now, you can use a TRANSLOADER, and copy graphics & sound files to YOUR OWN SERVER-(NOTE: Even if someone's GIFS, JPGS, or MIDIS are on THE SAME provider as you- ie: Geocities, it is STILL Bandwidth Theft, if you LINK to THEIR URL, instead of taking the FEW SECONDS that it takes to TRANSLOAD it!
It's no joke- Several Homepage Providers have banned all remote linking, & will suspend, or even delete someone's site, for violations. So, TRANSLOAD, PLEASE! Here are some TRANSLOADERS, for you to use. If you are on WebTV, click on these links, save them in your ''Favs'', & assign them an ''F'' Key. That way, when you click on an image, or MIDI that you want, all you have to do is click the appropriate ''F'' Key, and you'll be ready to TRANSLOAD!
Star Boulevard Transloader
A little slow, but usually always up & ready! Just type in the required fields-Account Name, Password, Rename To:Whatever you want-then, click TRANSLOAD, & follow the prompts-THAT'S IT! Star Blvd. does have a size limit, on certain files. If a file is too large, it may not let you TRANSLOAD it. If that happens, fear not!
The Freeloader
Larger file size limit, Faster & easier than Star Blvd., with less required fields to fill in, but can get very busy, at times!
