MEGA
MAN 3 (NES) WeaponsNeedle
Cannon:
Fires needles. Hold down the button for rapid fire. Mega Man will alternately fire needles slightly higher or lower (useless tip: Mega Man will fire the low one first). Mega Man can have 3 needles on the screen at once. Magnet
Missiles:
Fires Magnet Missiles horizontally. Whenever a missile is vertically aligned with an enemy (including some enemy shots), it will make one turn 90° straight up or down to try and hit it. Mega Man can have 2 Magnet Missiles on the screen at once. Gemini
Laser:
Shoots an azure laser beam. Upon hitting a map object (eg, a wall), the laser will bounce 45° upwards. After that, it will reflect off any map object as though they were mirrors (the laser bean can make a maximum of 25 bounces). The actual laser beam is in fact 3 small beams acting as one. If one segment hits, all hit (its possible for a Hammer Joe to open its just in time to get hit by the last segment, causing the entire beam to disappear and inflict full damage). Mega Man can only have one whole beam on the screen at once. Hard
Knuckle:
Shoots a large fist straight forwards. The Hard Knuckle is capable of breaking down certain walls. There is a miniscule split-second delay before the fist starts moving, which may throw off your aim. Although it hardly matters, pressing the Jump button during this delay will yield no results. However, if Mega Man climbs up or down during this delay, the Hard Knuckle will move with him (though there is not enough time to significantly change its course). There can only be 1 on the screen at one time. Top
Spin: One of Mega Mans more unusual weapons. Pressing fire while in the air will cause Mega Man to spin like a spinning top. One unimportant note is that hitting an enemy may cause a minor shift to your position. This weapon only drains energy each time it inflicts a hit. Its possible to waste your entire energy bar by Top-Spinning an invulnerable enemy. If your Top Spin does not kill an enemy in one hit, you may crash into the enemy and be damaged yourself. Search Snake: Snake Man Mega Man will throw as small green snake that will quickly fall to the ground and slither along the terrain at high speed. It can even climb up high walls. There can be 3 on the screen at once. Spark
Shock:
Fires a sphere of electricity. Rather than inflicting damage, the spheres will cause an enemy to be covered by sparks of electricity, holding it in place for around 5 seconds. Touching a frozen enemy will still damage you. There can be 2 spheres on the screen at once. Shadow
Blade:
Fires a spinning metal star. These will travel a set distance, then return like a boomerang, disappearing when they reach their original position. Shadow Blades can be fired in one of 8 directions by holding down the appropriate directional arrows when pressing Fire. There can only be 1 on the screen at once.
ItemsWhenever Rush is called for, he will teleport away after 5 seconds if he is not used. Rush Coil: Mega Man starts off with this item. If Mega Man jumps on the back of Rush, he will be propelled upwards by a springboard. Rush will teleport away after one jump. This item only uses energy when the springboard is used. Rush Marine: This item can only be deployed in water. Rush becomes a submarine that Mega Man can drive. If Mega Man is on the surface of a body of water, he can make the whole submarine jump. This item uses energy while being piloted by Mega Man. Rush Jet: Rush forms a jetboard that Mega Man can stand on. The jetboard can be moved by pressing the appropriate directional arrows. Once Mega Man steps on to the jetboard, it will always move horizontally to catch him whenever he jumps. One nearly useless trick is to fly into a platform so that the jetboard is blocked by the ground, while Mega Man continues forward. This way, Mega Man can dismount the board (it will not disappear after 5 seconds as it has already been used), though it will still move to catch him if he jumps towards it. Like most enemies, the board will disappear if it is scrolled off the screen. Rush Jet only uses energy when it is moving.
