This is Hampstead, my hometown. Believe it or not it is
inside central London! The forest that you see is the
Hampstead Heath, the world's largest uninhabited area
in any city. It is beautiful and completely wild, great place
for mountain biking. I live on one of the roads leaving off
the pond (whitestone pond) to the left. In my opinion Hampstead
is the best place to live, it is 5 minutes from the West End,
has 3 tube stations and a railway station, yet it is one of
the oldest villages in the South East, much older than
London's 2000 years, and it retains all it's charm. The only
thing that comes close to ruining it is all the American,
German and Australian tourists. I mean they are great people,
but to be stopped up to 7 times on the way to the high street
for directions and then conversations, when all you want is
to buy some groceries, as you might imagine, it gets tedious.
Anyway, all you would be tourists, don't mind me, you keep
some of my favourite shops open there.
