Legend of Ithalyen Chapter 1 "Sit down my friend and I will tell you a story. A story of Ancient Times, terrible Gods, horibble monsters, evil demons, colossul battles and brave heroes. I will tell you the story of the Ancient Greek city of Ithalyen. Let me take you back, to ancient Greece, when the Earth was young and time had no meaning." Ancient Greece: City of Ithalyen A two story outter wall surrounded a bustling city in front of a large castle that backed into the mountains. Kaiden, a newly inducted soldier into the Ithalyen army, gazed at the glowing sunset off to the West across the plains. The young soldier sighed and ran his fingers through his short brown hair, his shockingly blue eyes reflecting the sunset twice. He waked back along the top wall to the forward south tower of the castle rooftop and up onto the turret and down a trap door through the castle. His sentry duty was over and it was time to return home. He passed the guard who was to relieve him and said a quick hello before rushing past. He was eager to get home as he always was! He was headed home through the bustling Greek city of Ithalyen. At this time the streets were mostly empty but for a few late night wanderers. Making his way through the ornate, stone city, he slipped out a small hidden gate in the 2 story wall and walked south along the wall down a path for nearly 2 miles to his hime village of Aran. He walked down the well worn, dirt path, minarets of dust rose around him as a horseman trotted by him. He craddled his head is his strong arms and starred up at the darkening blue sky and smiled at the thought of seeing his wife waiting for him back home. His home was in a small village that was set into a little valley surrounded by a range of steep mountains, the Mountain range of Olympus. Zeus had given this land to his greatest worshippers, the Ithalyens, many years ago. It was a valuable place and many people fought over the rich farming soil and beautiful location. His village had split off from the large city to lead more peaceful lives. He walked past the first few houses, watching the little children playing in the yard, there laughter was music to his ears. Chilhood memories came back to him everytime he heard that sound. "Hello Mr. Ambrus!" the little children said, waving to him. "Shouldn't you kids be inside? You don't want Hades to get you, he comes out at night you know." Kaiden said matter-of-factly. He smilled at the looks of horror on the childrens faces as they quickly ran inside. An older woman stepped out of the wooden hut laughing. "Ahh, hello Kaiden, how are you today?" the woman said smiling at him. "Hello Pasis, not bad, long day at the Castle, how are you on this fine midsummer eve?" they carried on talking for several minutes untill Kaiden waved good bye and continued through the village, waving here and there to his friends and village people. Opening the door he stepped inside the small house to see his wife sitting by the fire. She turned her head, her flowing brown hair whirling through the air, her beautiful green eyes shining with love as she saw him. She stood up and rushed into his powerful embrace. "Oh I missed you." his wife, Penelope said, hugging him tightly. "I was only gone for 3 days. Could you really miss me that much? Because I missed you so much I thought I would never see you again." He said smilling. She reached up and kissed him on the cheek. Kaiden had recently been on a scouting mission. There had been reports of strange creatures in the area lately and Kaiden had been sent to investigate. Penelope returned to her cooking by the fireside in their homely little house. Small and square, there was a stone fireplace at the back wall, a table with 2 chairs to Kaiden's left as he looked around his domain and a 2 person bed to his right. He removed his armor and slipped into his normal clothes. Pulling on his brown cotton pants and blue sleevles shirt, he sat down to dinner with Penelope. The two lovers sat for hours, talking, eating and finally went to bed. Kaiden lie awake in bed, starring at the cieling. He looked at the sleeping form of his wife next to him. "I am truly blessed." he thought to himself. A beautiful wife, a good home, finally achieving what he had dreamt of since his childhood, a soldier in the army. Happiness flooded over him and sleep finally carried him away.
