Sara is by far the most mysterious and difficult to understand mermaids. When she was younger she fell in love with Mitsuki Tarou, and they agreed to run away together. However, when the day for their escape came and went, Sara flew into a rage that created a storm that destroyed her kingdom. She came to her senses in time to see her kingdom fall, and decided she wasn't fit to be anything anymore. Shortly afterwards she found Gaito.

Despite all of this, however, Sara still loves Tarou. She proves this when she stops a tidal wave from crushing a concert hall Tarou is performing in by singing "Return to the Sea". In the end though, Sara chooses Gaito, and sinks back into the sea with him.
