Luchia is the main character. In my oppinion she comes off as a bit of a ditz in a way. She is the second youngest of the Mermaids, and is the Princess of the North Pacific. When she was 7 years old she met and fell in love with Doumoto Kaito after seeing him on a cruise ship. That ship was soon after hit by a tidal wave and Kaito fell overboard. Luchia saved his life by using her pearl, which he kept.

When Luchia was 13 she was sent to the human world to retrieve her pearl from Kaito after some of the Mermaid kingdoms had been destroyed.
