PIC starts anti union drive and states

Is PIC concerned it will have to share more of its "profits" if the union gets in?

Answer: No not at all. A unionized workforce does not automatically mean employees will get more money. In fact the average union raises in Canada were only 2-2.5%.
With current compensation structure, PIC employees have the potential to increase their income by 9% (containment rates) and 10% sort rates annually, over the next 2 years.     Printed in June/July 2004 by Al Duffy

The Board of Governors were very much aware of the problem to acquire financing from the provinicial government in June 2004.

In July 2004, the CAW pull out of unionizing PIC.

On August 4th, 2004, Durham College acquired financing of 192.5 million over 30 years from The PIC Group.

The provincial government then offered up 220 million in loans but Dr. Gary Polonsky (President of DC and UOIT) rather not use it, he now has a cheaper source of financing.

4 months later PIC reduces wages by $3/hr and makes other cuts
Why did PIC and CAW not tell us any of this?
The CAW Committee tells you that Mike Shields has resigned
