I omited units, that didn't take part in combat due to not finnished organization. In brackets I wrote the main battles and places of fighting. The headers refer to time and region of combat. The vehicles listed are combat-used.

 I. Polish Armed Forces (PSZ) in the West, subordinated to the Polish government in exile in London. 

	5/1940, Norway
1. After the fall of Poland, the Polish Army was organized in France. 
The first unit to take part in combat was:
 - Independent Podhale (=Polish Highland) Rifle Brigade (SBSP) - sent to Norway (Narvik)
	main vehicles: no armour.

	6/1940, France
2. In France, in combat were used:
 - 1st Grenadier Division (Lagarde, Baccarat)
 - 2nd Foot Rifle Division (Belfort, Maiche)
 - 10th Armoured Cavalry Brigade (10.BKPanc) of Gen. S.Maczek - the 1st Battalion (Montbard, 17.6.40), and elements of the 2nd Battalion.
	main vehicles: R-35 and R-40 tanks.

	8/1941-3/1942, Africa	
3. A further unit was created in 1940 in the French Syria:
 - Independent Carpathian Rifle Brigade (SBSK) - defended Tobruk in 8/41-11/41, then fought at Gazala in 12/41-3/42. In 6-7/41 and 4-10/42 it was protecting defence lines in Egypt in case of a German breakthrough (without combat engagement).
	main vehicles: universal carriers (some with 20mm guns), motorized AT-artillery
	(in 5-10/42: also Marmon-Herrington AC, PzKpfw-III, Stuart III - not used in combat, but patrolling)


	4/1944-5/1945, Italy
4. After German attack on the USSR, Stalin allowed Polish units to be created in the USSR, of the captives of 1939. They were 2 infantry divisions (the 5th and the 6th). In 1942 they were moved via Iran and Iraq to Palestine, where they, along with the SBSK, created the Polish 2nd Corps of Gen. S.Anders.
	The 2nd Corps was fighting since 4/1944 in Italy (Monte Cassino - Ancona - Gots' Line - Bologne), and consisted of:
 - 2 infantry divisions (the 3rd Carpathian Rifle Division - 3.DSK and the 5th Kresowa Infantry Division - 5.KDP)
 - 2nd Armoured Brigade,
 - Artillery group.

	main vehicles: Sherman III, Stuart Recce, M10, Carriers, Staghound, Scout Cars, M3A1 Scout Car.
	later: Sherman Firefly, Sherman IB (105). 


	7/1944-5/1945, Western Europe
5. After the fall of France, Polish Army was re-created in Great Britain. Since 1940, some units were organized and trained there (the 1st Corps). In combat were used only:
 - 1st Armoured Division (1.DPanc) of Gen. S.Maczek - fighting from 7/1944 (Falaise - Gandava - Axel - Breda - Moerdijk - Wilhelmshaven).
 - Independent Parachute Brigade (SBSpad) of Gen. S.Sosabowski, fighting at Arnhem.

	main vehicles (1.DPanc): Sherman V, Sherman Firefly, Cromwell, -CS, Challenger, Stuart VI, Achilles IIC, Sexton, halftrack, Carrier, Scout Cars, Crusader IIIAAIII; later: Sherman IIA (76), M-16. 


II. Polish People's Army (LWP) in the USSR.

	10/1943-5/1945, Eastern Europe
6. In 1943 the Soviets and Polish communists (not respecting Polish government in London) created another Polish Army in the USSR. Since 7/44 it was named Polish People's Army (LWP), and organized in a liberated Poland. The first unit used in combat was:
 - 1st Tadeusz Kosciuszko Infantry Division (and the 1st tank regiment), fighting at Lenino (12-13.10.43). Then included into the 1st Army.

	In 1944-45 LWP consisted of:
 - 1st Army: 5 infantry divisions (nos.1-4,6), 1st Westerplatte Heroes Armoured Brigade, 1st Warsaw Cavalry Brigade, some artillery and sapper brigades, 4th Heavy Tank Rgt, 13th SP-arty rgt (Studzianki - Warsaw - Pommern wall - Kolobrzeg - Hohenzollern Channel - street fighting in Berlin - the Elbe)
 - 2nd Army: 5 infantry divisions (nos.5,7-10), 16th Armoured Brigade, some artillery and sapper brigades, 5th Heavy Tank Rgt, 28th SP-arty rgt (Dresden direction, Bautzen, Prague direction)
 - 1st Armoured Corps: 3 armoured brigades (nos.2-4), 3 SP-arty regiments (nos.24,25,27). Subordinated to the 2nd Army.

	main vehicles: T-34 variants, T-70, IS-2, SU-57,-76,-85, ISU-122,-152, BA-64, also small amount of Universal Carriers, halftracks and M17 (M16).
