| With my car I have plans of taking long trips and going places I've never been to. That is why I decided to get a navigation system, and since the screen was already there why not use it to watch DVD's also. I've always trusted Pioneer for my car electronics so I went to their site and started to learn about all their available models. I got a little introduction to navigation here, and then started to find one I liked. Then on their navigation section I found the Pioneer NAV-SYS900DVD. The price that is showed there is a little over my limits, so I started to look for some other places to get it cheaper. What I like about this system is that it is a package, so everything comes in 1 box from the same people, and it has a huge variety of functions. The Pioneer NAV-SYS900DVD is composed by the AVH-6400CD, a in-dash screen with CD player and AV system; plus the AVIC-90DVD, a navigation system powered by a DVD unit able to play DVD movies as well. With this package you won't need a "brain" (AV) unit under the seat of your car since the the AVH-6400CD has an AV unit integrated already. Also, many navigation units are powered by DVD drives, but most of these drives only play DVD ROM, in less words they will only read the DVD with the maps for the nav system. The AVIC-90DVD will not only read the disc with the maps, but also regular DVD movies. This package is composed by 2 (two) single-DIN units. As long as you have a double DIN space in your car you should have no problem installing both units in-dash just as I did. |
