Piaw liked Lisa so much that the very next night, he called her and asked if she would be willing to take a moonlight walk with him. He took her to Fremont Older Open Space Preserve, a park he frequently mountain biked. It was a full moon night, and they could hike up the fire road without using their flashlights. At the top of the first ridge, they spotted a family of deer.

The turning point was their fourth date, however---this is what Piaw wrote about it:
...the sure sign that we were meant for each other was on our fourth date --- I brought her a gray Totoro --- I don't give dates Totoros, but I knew she was special. She stared at it, ran into her bedroom, and came back out with an identical Totoro, except for the color. Our Totoros were clearly meant for each other, and we walked out of the play we went to that night holding hands...

Since then, Piaw and Lisa have made a pact: Lisa would go bicycle touring with Piaw, if he would step onto the ballroom floor with Lisa. They both think that this is the best bargain they've ever made in their lives.
