I began studing with Ruth Driscoll, when I was 8-1/2, and remained with her for four years. After winning a piano scholarship, through the Pittsburgh Piano Teachers Association in 1996, I came to the City Music Center at Duquesne University where I've been a student of Natasha Snitkovsky for the past 5 years. I was a Young Artist Winner of the Pittsburgh Concert Society in February of 1998, a winner of the Duquesne Young Artist Competition for ages 15 and under in 1998, and took second place in this same competition for piano duets for ages 14 and under with my very good friend Yana Chudnovsky. I also performed at the Frick Art Museum for a Recital of Faculty and Students. I played for the Women's Society at the Duquesne Club in Pittsburgh and also at the Carnegie Music Hall in Oakland. On April 9th and 11th of 1999 and January 22, 2000, I played in the lobby of Heinz Hall. I won the WQED Musical Teen competition in 1999. For winning, I was broadcasted/interviewed on WQED (station 89.3) on June 27th and July 1st! It was really fun. Ok, here's something really cool. On January 28, 2000, I played with the PITTSBURGH SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA!!! It was awesome. And guess what! I'm playing with them again in November (see Concert Dates below). Finally, I won the Helen Clay Frick Scholarship Competition in 2000 for $900!

I'm SO EXCITED!!!! On November 16, 19, 20, and 28 at 10:30am, I (as in me, Jenny Miller!!!!!!!! Can't you tell I'm exstatic about this?) will be playing solo with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchetra (go to the All Concerts and Shows tab, then the Schooltime link)! I will be playing the second movement of Beethoven's 4th Piano Concerto. It's not an extremely hard piece, but hey, I'm definitely not complaining :) The concerts will take place at Heinz Hall.
