| MY INTERESTS |
| Introducing ME! Hi ya'll. I'm a 16 year old from the little old state of Maryland. I'm exactly 5' 1 1/2" tall! Yeah, so I'm short! I have curly brown hair and greenish-brown eyes. My family and I are all Christians! My favorite sports are volleyball and softball. I don't currently play softball. I love to write, make webpages for myself and my friends, play piano, teach my bird to talk, quilt, babysit, work with animals, etc!!!! Every week I volunteer at a stable. Every 40 hours that you work, i get a "free" riding lesson. I love working there with the horses! I really love to play the piano. I LOVE classical, but I also play for church every month for offertory. My favorite classical song to play is Rhondo Alla Turca. I used to take lessons from my Grandmother - she teaches piano. Even though I quit, I practice daily and continue to teach myself. I love all of my animals! I don't think I could enjoy life without them! I have a border collie/lab mix dog, one duck, thirteen chickens (egg-laying hens), and two cockatiels! I am responsible for taking care of all of them except for the dog - that's my brother's job. My cockatiel's name is Mango, because that is the color of his cheeks. He is a great pet - I love him to death. I'm not sure he loves me that much, because there's always some new way to make fun of me. He mimicks the phone dialing, whistles and calls the dog, says hello, pretty birdie, go potty birdie (we tried to potty-train him), let me out (my Dad taught him that, it is REALLY annoying!!!), here Duchy, and telephone bird. He also mimicks us laughing, brushing my teeth, etc. As you can see - he is quite entertaining!!! Sunshine is Mango's son. We used to have a female named Billie. She laid two clutches of six eggs each. They all hatched. We sold them all but Sunshine; we also sold Billie. Sunshine mimicked everything Mango knows so they pretty much do the same things. I have two horses, Apple and Dakota. They are both Morgans. Apple is 3 years old, Dakota is 2. I also LOVE to quilt!! This may seem strange for a girl my age, because usually only "grandmas" quilt. Quilting is a lot of fun and it is very rewarding when you are finished. I have taken some lessons at Wilson's Sew and Vac. I made three quilts there. My most recent is large enough for a queen-sized bed. The first two were wall hangings. I've made three more wall hangings, two queen-sized quilts and some baby quilts. I taught our Pastor's wife how to quilt. I have also made other crafts, like a tote bag, little girl's dress, stuffed toy cat, knitted some wash cloths, crocheted a scarf, made a dress shirt, and made a basket. I entered some things in the Ag Expo and the tote bag won 3rd, the toy cat 2nd, and the basket 1st! Basket-making is also a lot of fun, but I won't get into all that right now... Like any other teenager, I like music! I like to listen to contemporary/rock Christian. Some of my favorite groups are Jaci Velasquez, Plus One, Point of Grace, Steven Curtis Chapman, Jars of Clay, Audio Adrenaline, Avalon, and ZoeGirl. My family keeps bees. We have three hives, and have had them for about 3 years. In 2002 we got 11 gallons of honey from them. My Dad is a cabinet maker (woodworker). He works at a small shop, but he does great work. He has made various things for President Bush at Camp David, and some things for the owner of the Redskins! At my house, we garden every year, and have almond, apple, peach, cherry, and plum trees. We grow grapes and blueberries, strawberries, and raspberries. My Grandparents own a large dairy farm and raise holstein cows. *Phew* I think that about covers it all! |
