| Vermin have penetrated the Floret Woodlands and the King have pleaded for help to Rubyeye, our general. The vermin have wreaked havoc and laid waste to all the land they have come across. They have killed innocents and taken many slaves. It is up to Rubyeye and her loyal and fierce fighters to stop them before the vermin reach Redwall or Salamandastron! |

| Chapter 1 - Rubyeye F. "Vermin have penetrated Floret and my sources tell me that it's Sivu the Evil and his fleet of over 200 water vermin. My castle warriors had tried to stop them as Sivu let down anchor at the gulf but they were overwhelmed and many of my loyal subjects have been killed or taken prisoner. It has been 2 weeks since that occured and Sivu and his minions have laid to waste the land and killed many of my people. I need your fighters to help me, for your beasts know the most about the Floret woodlands more than anyone one I know." |
| Rubyeye chewed her lip thoughtfully as she thought about her fighters taking action against the vermin. Hm..... it was true. Her fighers were the most knowledgable of the Floret woodlands and if they were ready to fight, they could probably get enough help from other nearby allied defenders... She bowed her head, politely. "My Lord, with all due respect, I don't know exactly what my fighters will do, but I can promise you that we will rid Floret of the vermin. But the problem is how........ |
| The woods around Sarahine did not change. A silence filled the air and no birds sang. It was frightening for any beast happening to be out, but there was only one creature that was terrified The black rat struggled in Marlso's strong iron grip. "Let me go, you backstabber!" He yelled at the top of his voice. "Not a chance, yer brown-livered scum. I've got a few friends who want to talk to you." Came back Marlso's voice. The rat continued to struggle and kicked out, but Marlso did not respond to anything. Suddenly by the sunlight, the marlfox's eyes pale eyes lit up as the beams shone down on Sarahine. At that in Sarahine Fortress,Rubyeye was attempting to get her troops organized into fighting readiness. "C'mon you lot, we gotta t' be ready to fight before Sivu and his band get here," she pleaded over the noise. |
