Wombatious: - wom-bay-shush (adj); slang; wombat like, featuring wombat characteristics; similar to a wombat; used to describe a certain TV doctor.

The original Wombatious.net was opened late 2004. The site's purpose was to be an archive of all my creative work. It was to be a place where I could store my poetry, stories, and artwork, and know exactly where they were for future reference. Because I couldn't think of a name for my site I simply called it Untitled.

After a few months I grew tired of my extremely crappy and lazy iframes layout and decided to give Untitled a make-over. I converted the site over to CSS and along with this change came a slight name change. Untitled became the .U.N.T.I.T.L.E.D. archives. I felt that this name gave the site more purpose but still maintained the same untitled feel that I had grown to love.

In late 2005 I began to advertise the .U.N.T.I.T.L.E.D. archives in attempt to get more visitors. In a few short months I had the most visitors I had had ever and decided that it was, yet again, time to upgrade my layout. After a short break, the .U.N.T.I.T.L.E.D. archives Version 2.5 had become the .U.N.T.I.T.L.E.D. archives Version 3.0. The new layout had grown slightly more complicated, as I was beginning to get the hang of CSS.

In March of 2006, (the 14th to be exact) I excountered an offer that only a fool would pass up. I was able to purchase my own domain name for only $7 (Canadian) for 2 years. Wombatious.net was then born.

The name for Wombatious.net came from an inside joke I have with some friends (or maybe it's just between myself and my alter-egos, sometimes it's hard to tell). During my whole "batman phase" (which, at the time of this writing, is still going on) I had dubbed Jesse Spencer "Australian Batman" for some reason. It comes from the fact that firstly, he is Australian, and also because he plays Dr. Chase on House. House and the online fandom have dubbed him the wombat (from episode 1-22). A wombat is an Australian (I think) animal with bat in it's name. Thus I somehow felt the need to dub Jesse "Australian Batman." (Writing this makes me feel like a complete, chaotic idiot.) Wombatious was just an adjective that popped into my head one day as a word to describe my newest hero. (Australian Batman: the wombatious superhero of doctors.) Now that I have written this, please don't think any less of me. I know I now come across as a, like I said, complete, chaotic idiot.

Wombatious.net has always been hosted on Geocities and I have recieved plenty of complaints for this. Yes, I could go get a more professional host, but why would I? Wombatious.net is my pastime. I come on here in my spare time because I enjoy it. I don't attempt to keep up with "the big leagues," validating my code and what not. That part just doesn't interest me. Geocities is the host I learned on, and it's the one I've always been most comfortable with. Since I created this site to please me and not other people, Geocities is all I feel I need at this point.
