Parents
This is my first attempt at fan fiction. It is also my first slash. If you don't watch House then you may or may not understand what is going on.
Pairings - House/Chase, Hint of House/Wilson
Rating - PG 13 at the most
Warnings - Possible spoiler for Daddy's boy. (Not enough to give anything away though.)
Chase knocked softly on the door of House's office. Through the glass door he could see his boss sitting at the desk, obviously thinking about something. House's constant tapping of his cane indicated to Chase that whatever was on his mind was serious while his ignorance of Chase's knock told the little Aussie that he didn't want to be bothered. However, Chase knew that he could help so he opened the door and took a seat in the chair opposite of House's.
"Oh, I'm sorry, I forgot that this was your office." House said in his usual tone, indicating to Chase that he didn't like people barging in when they weren't welcome.
But Chase was used to House's sarcastic remarks and started a conversation on an unrelated topic. "Cameron tells me that your parents are in town."
House, who had stopped tapping his cane, paused only for a second and seemed to think about what Chase said. "Cameron says a lot of things." It was all he could think to say.
"Are you going to go see them?" Chase tried to stay on topic but with House it was sometimes hard.
"And tell them what?" House knew what Chase was getting at and for once he wished the young doctor would just mind his own business. For the past few months the two had bonded over dysfunctional dads. It was what had brought them together.
"You weren't going to tell them?" This had come to a shock to Chase. House didn't care about what anyone thought, not even his parents. Was he ashamed of his hot, Aussie boyfriend?
House just wished that Chase would leave him alone to think for awhile. He tried desperately to come up with a witty remark to get rid of him. "Well, did you tell your dad?" It was all he could come up with.
Chase was starting to get annoyed, too. He grabbed the dog toy off of House's desk and starting playing with it. "That's different. My dad left before we got together."
House, angry now, started tapping his cane again. He didn't want to lose his temper with Chase. That man was the best thing that had happened to him since Wilson. "But did you tell him that you're..."
"No." Chase cut House off. "No, I didn't tell him that." He put the toy back on to House's desk.
Feeling that he was winning the argument now, House picked up the phone off his desk and handed it to Chase. "It's not too late you know."
Chase just stared at the phone for what seemed like an eternity before getting up and heading to the door. He paused in the doorway and turned to House. "Do what you think is best." House watched Chase leave and then returned to tapping his cane on the floor.
