A partial arial view of Barefoot Bay.

The Barefoot Bay Recreation District is a government entity. It is comprised of nine Trustees who are voted into office. Their duties are to oversee all needs of our community. They are also responsible for our budget. Each month there are two public meetings where all decisions are made. We the residents may express our views at these meetings.

      A Friday afternoon District Meeting.

Left, Chairperson, Mr. Bolon. Right, Community Manager, Mr. Williams.

      Concerned residents at the meeting.

Kay and I try to sit up front so that we don't miss anything. LOL

Mr. Oretel expresses his thoughts on how our maintenance fee should be used.

I have a difference of opinion and express mine.Thats the democratic way.

These two fine young men were presented with plaques at one of the meetings. Reason being: A home in the Bay was on fire and knowing that an elderly woman lived there, they along with another boy went into the house and brought the woman out, saving her life. Her home was totally destroyed.

Now that you have a little understanding of what our District is, won't you go through the rest of this page and all the other pages to see Beautiful Barefoot Bay and the people who live and work here. Who knows, you may be among them.

      A Map Of Barefoot Bay.

      Constant work is being done.
      Keeping the Bay beautiful,
      While we have fun.

      It takes many hands,
      And many long hours,
      Painting, repairing,
      And planting the flowers.

      Mowing the grass,
      Cleaning buildings too.
      These are just some things,
      Our workers do.

      Don't forget,
Tennis courts, Bocce Ball, Shuffle Board too.
      Maintaining three pools,
      For me and for you.

      Three Cheers For The Workers,
      Who give us their all.
      So that we may enjoy,
      Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall

Below are just a few pictures showing some of the things being done to keep our community beautiful.

Termite inspections were done and BLD. A & the office had to be treated.

We won't have to worry about those little buggers again here.

When the A BLD. area was closed, it gave the maintenance crew a chance to refinish the dance floor in the Lounge.

      Isn't it beautiful?

Yes all the furniture came out. WHY??

Can't do half a job, it's time to shampoo the rug.

      Building C is being painted.

This is the card room and a meeting room. The workers do such a great job.

Left: Michael, Right: Kevin. They are planning the work for the day.

Betty and co-worker in the Community Center Office. These ladies always greet you with a smile.

Steve is one of our many Pool Hosts. There is always someone on duty at all three pools.

Each month in our maintenance fee $1.00 is set aside for keeping our canals in good order.

Here they have started to drain the canals to clean them up.

Check out this huge backhoe brought in to do the job.

There is much grass to be mowed and many trees and shrubs to be trimmed in the Bay. I don't know how these guys keep up with the work in season.

When a hurricane took our dock away, the District Trustees made sure it was repalced. So many people in the Bay love to fish and crab here.

Many also go there to enjoy the scenery on the beautiful Indian River.

There are many clubs in the Bay with many talented people. One of which is the Artist Guild. They have painted many murals all around our community. When visitors come they feel they are in a Resort. So do I, all the time.

This mural is located at Pool #1.
