They entered the wormhole and discovered that it led to the nearby Andromedia Galaxy, supporting Heath's theory that there is a network of wormholes connecting the galaxys so that each galaxy has a connection to at least one other galaxy.
Before the discovery of the Andromedia Wormhole, scientists had been studying the Andromedia Galaxy and had discovered that the radiation levels were steadily increasing and would eventually cause the galaxy to become unsuitable for most life.
Our ship, the USS Inferno, has been assigned on a seven year mission to explore the Andromedia Galaxy. We will explore and map the sectors surrounding the entrance to the wormhole an partrol those sectors unitl the space station guarding the entrance to the wormhole is completed. After the completion of the station, we will map the sectors twards the center of the Andromedia Galaxy with the intent of finding the source of the radiation and when we find it we are to try to halt the advance of the radiation.
