Poiseuille’s formula The volume of liquid viscosity,h flowing per second, through a horizontal capillary tube of circular cross section of radius r and length l is given by,

dV/dt = p r ^{4 D} p / (8h l )

where D p is the pressure difference across length l. This equation is applicable only when the flow is streamline*.
