cosmic microwave background radiation The cosmic microwave background radiation was discovered by scientists at Bell Labs USA, while they were investigating noise problems in satellite communications systems in 1964-65. To carry out further investigations on these radiation, satellites with special detectors have been sent. The satellite data have revealed that this radiation is equivalent to the radiation emitted by a black body at 2.7 K, and the radiations are isotropic. The cosmic background radiation has been interpreted as remnants of the early radiation dominated universe which followed the Big Bang some 15´ 109 years ago.
