The Great Irony of Life
Some people just shouldn't spawn. It is just a shame that in our society, they are most likely to do so.
Dumb People

Dumb people have no common sense.
Dumb people don’t survive.
Dumb people make it hard for smart people to survive.
Smart people become dumb people for trying to help out dumb people.
Smart people who admit they are smart people are dumb people.
Smart people who admit they are dumb people are smart people.
Dumb people who admit they are smart people are dumb people.
Dumb people who admit they are dumb people are dumb people.
Dumb people think they are smart people.
Smart people only listen to smart people.
Dumb people only listen to dumb people.
Smart people never claim to know, even if they do.
Dumb people claim to know, even if they don’t.
Dumb people think dumb people are smart people.
There is no way to tell for yourself if you are one or the other; the smart people around you know. The dumb people around you don’t care.

The Reasons Why There Are So Many Dumb People in Our World:
I.
Smart people think the world is becoming overpopulated. They believe in zero growth.
Dumb people don't care.
II.
Smart people use their brains to solve conflict.
Dumb people use guns to solve conflict.
Dumb people usually win the conflict.

Why Not Be Dumb?
You can spawn more.
You worry less.
You don't have to apologize for anything.
You can drive as fast or as slow as you want.
You can piss people off without remorse.
You don't have to learn anything.
You can do all the drugs you want.
You don't care if you get anything done.
You don't care if you have any accomplishments in your life.
You don't care if you change the world.
You have no responsibilities.
You get to be on TV talk shows.
You think you can get away with anything. You don't care if you don't.
It's much easier to be dumb.
QED.
DUMB DRIVERS
One thing I can't stand these days is an idiot driver with a giant US flag perched on the back of his vehicle. AS IF the flag makes him/her look cooler. It's one thing to show your patriotism, but tearing down the freeway at 90 miles an hour with a giant flag waving on the back of your pickup makes you an idiot. A patriotic one, mind you, but an idiot nonetheless.
What's with all of the half torn little plastic flags on car antennas? Is there no shame? When a flag is torn, it must be fixed or retired. After 9-11, I have never seen more plastic flags littering the sides of freeways. Utter blasphemy.
I can't stand people who throw their cigarette butts out their car window. They never admit they do so, but I see about one moron every day do this. That's 365 butts a year seen just by me. The stuff is an eyesore on the side of the road, they don't decompose quickly and it can produce brush fires. The stuff was originally meant for RITUALS and SPECIAL OCCASIONS by the Indians--just like everything else, modern humans have taken something sacred and devalued it to the point of a common addiction.
I have reason to believe that most people have not evolved beyond the ape mentality. They are blind to all of the nonsense happening around them, and will do nothing to make it better.
Physics is supposed to be the jewel of our mental faculties--the rules of how nature works, yet most people don't care to learn it, nor think they have the capability of grasping it.
When a piece of technology breaks down, one can see that most humans who were dependent on that technology revert back to ape mentality. They haven't a clue how it works, nor how to fix it.
It is a shame that most humans are oblivious to this.
The propagation of ignorance is always faster than the propagation of knowledge.
Most people are asleep all their lives and are complacent. The ones who are awake are constantly struggling with the asleep.
Oblivious. Careless. Ignorant.
There is no hope for the asleep. They choose to be that way and they are happy, so ignore them. They don't need your precious time. Life is too short to ponder on the mundane.
Fashion is for apes. It is mass hypnosis for the weak minded.
MTV is for apes. It too is hypnosis for the weak minded.
Most TV shows are catered to the weak minded ape.
Teenagers are most susceptible to this hypnosis.
Peer pressure is hypnosis for the weak minded.
It's all the power of suggestion around you. Everything around you is designed to give suggestions for you to do something. When was your last original thought? Or are all of your thoughts just a rehash of someone else's suggestions? Does your original thought consist only of making decisions on other people's suggestions?
What a waste of life--having the gift of mind and wasting it on the mundane.

Happy New Year.
I think it is perfectly alright to remove the word God
from the Pledge of Allegiance. It is true that the
Let me put it this way. Every time someone notes
that the Pledge of Allegiance is fine as it is, that person is persecuting a
vast population in the
The First Amendment states, "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances."
By leaving "God" in any state document or phrase, the government is persecuting Buddhists.
Keeping silent during that portion of the Pledge of Allegiance does not make me any less an American either. It does not make me unpatriotic, for I am very proud of my country and for which it stands. I just wish that it was more sensitive to Buddhists.
Do I believe in God? Yes I do. But that's not the point and it's not really your business; for in this country, I should be free to choose my religion without having it blindly stuffed down my throat.
"In God We Trust" indeed.

One thing I never understood about the Judeo-Christian faith is that their God is a jealous one (Exodus 20:5)--jealousy requires a sense of Pride and a sense of Envy, two of the seven deadly sins.
It seems like the Judeo-Christian God is exempt from the sins of Wrath (Anger), Pride, and Envy.
So, it's only bad when us humans do it. One would think that the "Creator of All Things" would not falter to such things.
Maybe Joan Osbourne is right--God is one of us...

The Bette Midler song..."From a Distance"... what the heck does it mean? "God is watching us--from a distance." God is not close and personal? God is too far away to hear our personal pleas? Such a bleak song addressing the alienation from our loving Creator. How ironic that it became so popular.

I think it was funny that Lionel Ritchie sang "Let It Be" at the Grammys. He said it was a wonderful John Lennon song (Paul McCartney wrote it) and he said this as he was looking right at Julian Lennon in the audience. Then he started to sing..."feed the hungry children--let it be"--what the f*ck is that supposed to mean? You either do one or the other--you can't feed the hungry children if you LET IT BE!!! If you LET IT BE, you let the hungry children BE and they STARVE TO DEATH! Just plain stupid.

There is a document called the Declaration of

So, what if smoking pot is part of your pursuit of happiness? I don't do the stuff myself, but I think it is strange that this document has been overlooked in the arguments for the legalization of hemp. It is an inalienable right--far above and beyond the level of the Bill of Rights, and the Amendments in the Constitution.
I think it was funny that the original inalienable rights
(by John Locke) were Life,

Consider this...
Perhaps the people of the Earth need to solidify all of the things that are sacred to them as a whole into one singular text--a Bible v2.0 if you wish. Of course, it cannot be called the Bible, for this already has a bias towards Christianity.
What would this tome of sacred human values contain? It cannot be biased towards any single religion, and all of the items in this text must be held sacred by all of humanity, not just a chosen few. What would be in this text?
It cannot contain God, for God is not believed to exist by all human beings, and so therefore it cannot be included in this text.
What can all humans agree on? My guess is empirical knowledge--knowledge that can be proven to be true by experimentation. Science is probably the most sacred human value that exists. And yet most humans have no idea what science is about. How ironic.
Can all humans agree on anything?
I think it behooves the human race to find out if such a text is possible. If we cannot compose such a text, what does that tell us about the human race? That we have NO sacred commonalities?

Any religion that preaches that their religion is the ONE TRUE religion, cannot be true. If there are two different religions that boast this, you have conflict between them. This is how holy wars happen. Therefore, neither of them can be perfect.
The perfect religion must allow the existence, tolerance, and respect of other religions, in order to avoid conflicts.
I like Buddhism. It has tolerance for all other religions. By definition, even God is a Buddhist--a being who has the potential to reach enlightenment--the awakened state of being. God is a Buddha, if He has already attained enlightenment. I presume He has.
There is one problem. God has an ego. "I am a jealous God." God cannot attain enlightenment unless He sheds His ego. If anyone can, God can do it. Heck, many humans have done so already--how hard can it be for God to do that?
Maybe God doesn't want to attain enlightenment. Maybe God wants to stay asleep like the rest of us.
We are all sleepwalkers until we awaken.
Let me say it again, just to aggravate you: Any religion that preaches that their religion is the ONE TRUE religion, cannot be true.
So why stick with it? Out of habit? Too late to change? If someone told you that your belief system is wrong, you would be angry too. So angry that you would not see the truth, and that you would hold faster to your "wrong" belief system. And why not? It is your own belief system, right? But wouldn't it be better for you if you believed in something that was true?
Even beyond that, wouldn't it be better if it wasn't based on belief, but rather things you KNOW to be true, beyond any shadow of a doubt?
Is it better to know, or to believe? There's always room for doubt when you believe (but that's why people have faith). There is no room for doubt when you know. You make the choice.
1. For me, God is defined as "all that is". I don't have to believe that God exists. I KNOW God exists.
2. For me, "putting your faith in Jesus" is having positive consciousness. And I know it has power. And I know it works. I don't need a middle man to remind me that it works.
3. Guilt and self-doubt is negative consciousness at its worst. Guilt is the original sin. Guilt is why people do the wrong thing. Guilt is what makes people feel they do not deserve the best for themselves. Guilt is not the same as humility.
4. Bearing 1 to 3 in mind, one should respect others as they would themselves.
Possible things to put into the Tome of Sacred Human Values:
1. Beyond a shadow of a doubt, I exist.
2. Being positive has better results than being negative.
3. In order to be a better human being, I must first learn to respect myself, then learn to respect others as I do myself.
4. I am a small but functional part of this Universe. My actions affect the Universe's reaction.
5. The past cannot be changed. The future is unknown. The present is the only bridge to either, and is the only thing that I have complete control over.
6. I am the only one responsible for my own actions. I control my destiny.

He epitomizes this idea: Impulsive actions without thinking it through.
He is that stubborn guy in the car who refuses to pull over and ask for directions, because he refuses to admit he made a wrong turn somewhere along the way—he’ll just keep driving until he runs out of gas or until the passengers kick him out of the car.
Our foreign policy now is: Let’s get everyone to hate us!

hurts--but once you accept it, we can start the healing process. Deny it and you are doomed to have some other sheep

If you believe the Bible verbatim, try this
simple experiment:
1. Read I Kings 7:23 in the Bible.
2. Take any circular object (a wheel, a CD,
any object that is a circle) and carefully measure its circumference (distance
around the circle’s perimeter) and its diameter (distance across the circle
through the middle point).
3. Divide the circumference by the
diameter. This ratio is called “pi” and
it has that value of about 3.1415926535…
4. The
Bible claims that this ratio is exactly 3.
If this is true, then all “pi” measurements must equal 3.
5. But
they don’t, as you just proved using simple measurements. Any circle you measure will have the
3.1415926535… value for the ratio.
6.
Using this scientific method, you have just proven that something in the
Bible is not correct, and that the Bible can contain flaws.
I think you need to spend some time now
thinking about the scientific validity of the Bible, especially before you
begin pestering and lobbying your local schools to allow Creationism to be
taught as a science. If it is flawed or even contradictory, it is not
self-consistent, and therefore scientifically unsound. You cannot prove by
empirical evidence that Creationism actually happened. It is a myth—a story. If you allow
Creationism to be taught in science courses, you might as well drop the
defenses and allow astrology and alchemy to be taught with the same vigor. And after that, we can all live in a nice
hazy cloud of uncertainty and superstition. What a wonderful world that would
be—to not be able to apply science to predict outcomes of natural phenomena, to
not have useful technology like the phone or vehicular transportation, to not
have knowledge of medicine and healing, to not be scientifically informed so
you can be easy prey to get ripped off or conned. Yeah, a veritable paradise…
Now, if you are the type of person who
refuses to do this test and firmly believes that the Bible is true in all
aspects, I have some sad news for you.
The proof is in every circle you see around you in everyday life. And by
disbelieving the proof, you are living a mathematical lie.
The Bible is a great text of stories and is
very inspirational. So is the Koran, the Dhammapada, the Vedas, the Upanishads, and many other
sacred texts from around the world. Don’t be so closed minded as to think that
The Bible is the only way to find inspiration.
And don’t even think that the Bible is based on science.
