Students will move effectively, efficiently and creatively by integrating  
      movement into their skill development.
  Students will exhibit competence in a variety of locomotor, non- locomotor,
      and manipulative skills performed individually and in groups.
 
  Students will employ critical and creative thinking skills and strategies.
   Students will display a knowledge of motor skills, rules, and strategies that
       supports safe and effective performance in physical activities.
  Students will display enjoyment and a positive 
      self concept through opportunities to 
      participate successfully in sport, fitness and
      creative movement experiences.

      can be established and enhanced through
      physical activity experiences.

Grade 4 Indicators
1. Demonstrate improved skill in fundamental game, sport, gymnastic, and dance tasks reguiring an application of movement concepts to participate successfully in physical education.

2. Combine skills such as rolling, balancing, and transferring weight into a smooth sequence that emphasizes changes in direction, speed, force, and flow to develop a sense of balance.

3. Demonstrate repeatedly sequences of purposeful locomotor and non-locomotor skills that are basic to dance, gymnastics, games and sport to improve skills.

4. Demonstrate appropriate body alignment for lifting, supporting, and controlling body weight during various activities to improve their sense of balance.

5. Describe principle cues for the successful performance of varied movement patterns to practice and perform selected skills properly.

6. State guidelines and behaviors for the safe use of apparatus and equipment to participate safely.

7. Design a game, rhythmic activity, or motor task which fulfills given criteria to show critical and creative thinking.

8. Allow all group members to participate and contribute according to their personal abilities to ensure opportunities for all students to participate in activities.

9. Offer suggestions to persons whose skills they feel capable of improving to contribute to the success of others.

10. Display good sportsmanship both as participants and as spectators to demonstrate respect for self and others.
