This chapter is going to explain to you what happens with the death experience in the realm of Darkstone.
First off, you will see in big red letters...You have been Killed!
If you belong to a clan or guild, you will come to in your clan/guild hall. If you are currently not in any clan or guild then you will come to in the Temple of Tarin. The first thing you will notice is that all your stuff is gone. It is not really gone...it is just still on your corpse at the spot that you died. You are going to have to go back and retrieve your stuff from out of your corpse. If you died close to the spot you came to in...it won't be that big a deal to walk back to your corpse and get your stuff...though you may be low in move points and have to rest for a minute first. If you died far away, don't be afraid to ask any of the Guardians for help in getting your stuff back. That is what we are here for, to help you. If you are under level 10 you can send a tell or just clan talk and one of us will come to your aid. If you are over level 10, then you may not be able to speak to us, since your seerstone is now gone. If you have died and need our help, you can always "beep" one of us. By typing "Beep (Name)" it will send a signal to us, and we will know that you are needing help.
When you get to a higher level, the mobs you fight will start "remembering" you if you should flee from them, they will chase after you. If you are in the realm alone and get connected to one of these types of mobs who keeps killing you as you try to get your stuff back from a death, you can type save, then quit and get back on. That should cut the connection to that mob allowing you to be able to go get your stuff. If you happened to get killed from an aggressive mob, one that attacks you instantly if it sees you because you are not invisible or hidden, you need to be sure to get some means to hide yourself or become invisible before you go to your corpse or the mob will just kill you again, and again.
If you have devoted to a diety, and have accumulated enough favor points with that diety, you can always supplicate your corpse to you. (See the Help Favor file) If you choose this option try to supplicate your corpse either in the clan hall or in an out of the way spot so a passing thief doesn't take items from the corpse before you can get them all out.
Once you have gotten all your stuff and gotten dressed again, you should behead your corpse and take your head and either cook it, or eat it...once a corpse has been beheaded it can't be supplicated. This will save you from possibly supplicating 2 or more corpses, and then being in the negative with your favor points.
It should be pointed out that the realm does hold a few death traps. When you die in one of these, you can not go back and get your corpse. The only way to retrieve your stuff is to supplicate your corpse to you. It is a good idea to be sure that you have enough favor points for supplication before you go exploring a new area in case you do happen across one of these traps. That way your stuff will not be lost to you forever.
