Meeting Minutes

October 14, 2003

 

Meeting began at 7:05 pm

Murdina's Corner:

 

·                    Murdina opened up the meeting explaining her and Brooke's jobs.  They will split Erin's job.  Murdina will deal with the parent's and kids end of the job and Brooke will be the YMCA liason along with their coaching responsibilities.  At meets Brooke will be the head coach for the Levels 4, 5 & 6 and Murdina will be head coach for Levels 7, 8 & 9.

·                    A new meet schedule will be forthcoming.  They will be starting in January and running about every three weeks.

·                    The practice schedule will change in November.  Starting Monday November 3rd,  Levels 7,8 & 9 will practice from 4-7pm and Levels 5 & 6 will practice 6-8pm.

·                    It was reminded to not interrupt the coaches during practice with questions or concerns.  Please see the coaches before or after practice that way they can direct their full attention to what is going on with the girls on the floor.

·                    Sarah will be coaching the Level 4 & 5's on Friday.  Murdina and Brooke will take turns stopping in on Fridays.

·                    Reminder to all Levels 7, 8 & 9 parents to pay for your daughter's  floor routine. There are still some outstanding balances.

·                    Murdina is instituting a once a month unexcused absence. The girls are to use it wisely and it will not carry over to the following month if it is not used.  This is not to be used the week before a meet.  Also please call or e-mail Murdina or Brooke if your daughter will be absent.

·                    The team captains for this season are Mo Elko, Laura Ng and Traci Budzilowicz.  They will be coming up with new ideas to make the team more of a community with the younger girls.  They will also be in charge of conditioning, the team bulletin board and the cartwheel-a-thon.

·                    John Revito will be taking on the responsibility of updating the team website.

·                    Level's 8 & 9 will be practicing ocassionally at Ursinus College.  More info will come on this.

·                    International Gymnastic Camp in the Poconos will be having a Thanksgiving clinic on November 28th and 29th.  See Brooke if you are interested.

·                    The girls will be doing the Relay for Life to benefit the American Cancer Society next May.  Brooke will be the team captain.

·                    The Holiday Party was discussed.  Tentative date is December 5th or 6th.  Brooke is looking into having it at the Pickering Valley Golf Club.  More details to come.

 

Treasurer's Report:  Marsha reported there is $9760.61 in the checking account.  The Flower Bulb Fundraiser netted $329.00 and The Pizza Fundraiser netted $1400.00.
