Meeting Minutes

November 11, 2003

 

Meeting began at 7:05 pm

Board Members in attendance:

Treasurer's Report:  The balance in the checking account is $8289.13.  This amount reflects the $1000.00 donation to the YMCA in lieu of the cartwheel-a-thon.

 

President's report:

·                    Our next fundraiser will be the Johnson's Popcorn.  Greg Cordes has volunteered to chair this fundraiser.  Details to come.

·                    A phone chain has been instituted for emergencies, such as bad weather closings.  Diane Heverly will call each level captain to start the message.  Level captains are:

                        Level 4 - Eilleen Csongradi

                        Level 5 - Jane Jacobsen

                        Level 6 -  Pam Nemeth

                        Level 7 - Diane Heverly

                        Levels 8 & 9 - Angi Ng

·                    The Holiday Party will be Saturday, December 6th at 6:00 pm.  The party is open to the entire family with a 5.00 donation per sibling.  The GPO will pay for the gymnast and her parents.  The party will be held at the Pickering Valley Golf Club in Phoenixville.  Please rsvp to Leslie Soster.

·                    We will be hosting the first meet of the season for Levels 4, 5 & 6 on Sunday, December 14th.  This will be a two session meet and will require the help of all parents.  The set-up will be on Saturday night.  Christi Hilliard will head up the kitchen, Eileen Csongradi will head up the Gift Table and Kathy Terstappen will handle decorations.  There is a sign-up sheet outside the office to pitch in for the many jobs needed to make the meet run smoothly.

 

Murdina and Brooke's Corner:

·                    Woodward will be July 18-24, 2004.  Brooke has put out an e-mail regarding registration.  Brochures will be coming home.  Please see her if you have any questions.

·                    The gym will be closed July 11-23, 2004.

·                    The tank leos will arrive next week.  The long sleeve leos will arrive the first week of December.

·                    Brooke will be at Pancott's gym on Sunday, November 23rd. The cost is $8.00.

·                    The Visa Cup Meet will be at Madison Square Garden on February 28, 2004.  Brooke will send an e-mail  regarding details.

·                    If you have not paid for your daughter's floor routine, the money is due now.  Please remit to Brooke.

·                    The gym is in need of a set of the new Super Wide Bars.  Brooke is working with the Y to get them to subsidize this purchase.  In the meantime, The GPO voted and passed the proposal to purchase a free standing low bar ($585.00) and a new springboard ($540.00).

·                    The Relay for Life fundraiser for the American Cancer Society will be next May.

·                    Please see Murdina if your child will be doing a winter sport.  She needs to discuss your daughter's schedule.

·                    The next GPO meeting will be Tuesday, December 9, 2003 at 7:00 pm.
