Meeting Minutes
January 14, 2003
Meeting began at 7:05pm

Board Members Absent: Ginny Johnson - Vice-President
Ed Postell opened up the meeting with discussion of the Upper Bucks meet on
Saturday, January 18. Levels 6,7,8 & 9 need to be at the gym by 8:00
am and
level 4 & 5 need to be at the gym by 1:00pm.
The next topic focused on the State Meet, Phoenixville will host on May 3 &
4.
The gym has been reserved, hotels in the area have been blocked and the
equipment has been ordered. An adult from each family will be required to
work
the meet. Details will be forthcoming to sign up for a committee.
There will
be two sessions on Saturday with one session on Sunday. Help will be
needed on
Friday night for the set-up and on Sunday afternoon for the tear down.
The
theme of this meet will be Wild, Wild West. Eileen Csongradi has
volunteered
to pursue different companies to get a price on the embroidery for t-shirts and
sweatshirts. It was decided the goodie bag would be a grip bag for the
competing gymnasts. The admission fee of $4.00 for the meet will be used
to
cover the rental of the springfloor. A gift will be given to all Seniors
at
the meet. The next GPO meeting on February 11th will be a mandatory
parent
meeting.
Treasurer's Report - There is $3121.97 on the checking account, which includes
a
payment to Johnson’s Popcorn. Please send in outstanding popcorn money by
Wednesday, January 15th. There are also outstanding food concession
contributions. If you did not send $10.00 for the December meet please do
so
immediately. The December meet made $1600.00. A big thank you to
Ginny
Johnson and her team for all their hard work to make this meet a success.
A
low beam will be purchased by the GPO with the funds coming from the profits
from Parent's Night Out. A proposal was voted on to purchase pistons for
the
Bars. A motion was made by Bob Stevens, seconded by Ann Elko and voted
unanimously by the parents. Lisa provided a treasurer's report for each
family
to take home with them listing the deposits and expenses for the months of
November and December.
Erin's Corner -
There will be a club meet at Wilson College in Chambersburg in Saturday,
January 26th for levels 7,8 & 9. Gymnasts must be on the
mat at 9:15 am.
Directions will be forthcoming.
Woodward is week 9, July 20-26th. There will be a $50.00 discount if
application is received by January 31st. See Erin if you did not receive
a
Woodward brochure.
Nationals will be held July 2-t in Savannah, Ga. Erin has blocked 35
rooms at
the DeSoto Hilton. Levels 7,8&9 will arrive on July 2nd and level
5&6 will
arrive on July 5th. Ceremonies will be on July 6th. Levels 5 &
6 will compete
on July 7th.
The Visa America Cup is Saturday March 1st at 1:00 pm. There was not
enough
interest to warrant renting a bus. There are 4 tickets left if anybody is
interested, please see Erin.
Erin is still working with the YMCA to get funding for the purchase of a
balance beam. She hopes to have an answer in 3 weeks.
