Introduction & Financial Report:

·      Meeting Began At 6:45 PM

·      Lisa opened the meeting and Marsha reviewed current financial status as follows: $9,254 currently in checking account, $5,000 of which is designated to pay for GK leotard order.

·      Murdina then distributed the Meet Schedule & Proposed Budget and began a review of the budget.

Budget (Murdina):

·      Budget/Assessment: At the last meeting a goal was stated of staying within the $150 assessment.  The proposed budget was distributed to attendees and reviewed by Murdina.  The assessment will be raised if the $150 assessment does not cover the current year’s budget.

·      Volunteers needed to transport a spring floor on loan from Hatboro for League Championships in March.

·      The coaches are considering taking only Levels 6-9 to Nationals this year.  Next year only Levels 7-9. This would allow Compulsory Levels to use the time between April and July to begin training for their next level.  Brooke and Murdina believe that this approach would be much better for the overall progress of the girls.

·      Murdina stated that the expense for 9.0 pins is significant; another option for recognizing the 9.0 scores may be considered.

·      For home meets all families will be asked to donate $10.  In addition there will be a sign-up sheet for parents to provide baked goods.

Practice (Murdina):

·      Some girls are participating in other activities; they are only hurting themselves by missing gymnastics practice.  There are girls attending other level practices and also coming and going at odd times.  This will no longer be an option – gymnasts should only attend their assigned practice for their level.  If girls have outside activities, they can set up private lessons to make up for lost time.  Brook is available from 11-1 most Saturdays and other coaches are available at different times/days.  See Brooke for pricing of individual lessons.  Girls are still required to attend all practices the week before any meet.

Holiday show (Brooke):

·      Friday, December 3rd is the date for the show.

·      Murdina proposed to combine the holiday show with the holiday party that includes families, siblings, and relatives.

·      Volunteers will be needed for set-up and decoration before the show.

·      Input requested on cost for admission, whether concessions should be sold, advertising, etc.  The show will be advertised on Phantom TV.  A raffle could be included to raise additional funds during the party.  Raffle ideas included a basket or a kids stocking.  Please speak with Brooke if you are interested in volunteering time to help organize.

·      Rehearsals for the holiday show will be on Saturdays and Sundays.  It will not take a lot of time, but rehearsals will be needed.  There may be two days of practice required, then a dress rehearsal.  Dates will be sent out in the next week.

Leotards

·      Jane Robey will pick up leotards in Reading.

Fundraising

·      Fundraising goes toward assessment.  Individual fundraising is counted against the $150 assessment.  Families have the option of writing a check for the difference if the $150 level is not reached through fundraising only.

·      Yankee Candle Fundraiser (Michelle Benner):

-        Handouts distributed at meeting.  Check child’s mailbox.

-        Fundraiser starts today.

-        Write checks to the GPO.

-        Farmer’s Almanac products also available.

-        40% profit on candles and Farmer’s Almanac.  30% on Accessories.

·      Wawa hoagie coupons (Joanne Tofani):

-        Can be an ongoing fundraiser starting later in the season.  Coupons do not expire and can be used at any Wawa.

·      Johnson’s Popcorn:

-        The minimum shipment is 350 units. Interest level is not yet certain, but several people at the meeting said that they would not be interested in participating.  Parents will be questioned to determine whether there is sufficient interest.

·      Carwash:

-        Suggested as possible spring fundraising idea for the YMCA scholarship program with K-Mart as a possible location.

Coaches’ Mailboxes:

·      Please deliver any documents intended for the coaches to their “mailbox” instead of hand-delivering during practice.  Brooke & Murdina have a mailbox folder in the same location as the girls.
