| Zhongdian, near border of Tibet, Deqing. I am at Bita Hai, a lake high in the mountain, where you need to walk 3 km to reach it. We rent horses for the trip back. |

| Yuan Shan Ping, Lijiang. This is a meadow where you can see Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. In May, there is too much mist to be able to see the mountain. |

| Tiger Leaping Gorge. This is not easy to trek down to. The Gorge is so steep that from the bottom to the peak, it is said to be 3,000 over metres. |

| We visited Jiu Xiang. These caves are huge with limestone forming shapes among streams and waterfalls. Swallows fly and scream within. This place is another strenous hike. |
