I went back to Korea flying there on Christmas day 25/12/03. I needed a break from work and so went there with my nephews and sister to relax. As the last time round (above 1997) I did not manage to even stand up and move around with the ski shoes on without falling very often as well as unable to control my movements, I wanted to go back to learn to balance on the skis. As this trip allows me to spent 2 nights at Pyongyang Ski resort, I was able to learn to balance on the first day. The next morning, some of the children in the tour group opted to go up the chairlift on the lowest slope. Persuaded by one of the ladies, I master my courage and join the them going up on the chairlift, thinking its now or never. I am glad I did it. The feeling of the wind in my face and speeding down the slope on ski is so nice. Satisfaction too as I have all along wanted to know how to ski! Thanks to a short lesson by the guide Shawn and later with much assistance and help from the photographer Jeffrey. |
