| This is Tsumago, a small post town north of Nagoya on the old Nakasen-do, the mtn route connecting east and west Japan. Both Guan Sim and myself love this small town high in the Japan Alps. Afte taking a bus from the train stn, we arrive in a car park with no tourist information and nowhere near accom. I approach a lady who is not a tourist info desk to help me call several hostels up and luckily an old couple take us in and came to fetch us. I have not expected the accom to be scattered in the mountain side. We had a nice time communicating with the old couple who show us very old photos of themselves and the place. I ask if any Singaporean came to stay, he told me mostly Americans. I love the helpfulness of the people, the old atmosphere of the town, the sakuras blooming among the old bldgs and streets. Our dinner was interesting again, as we tried the old woman's cooking. There is this fried "leaf" which was very tasty (I like) and Guan Sim warn me not to "steal" hers. :) |
