INDONESIA
I went to Tanjong Pinang in 1989.  It was a quiet, laid back town.  We went island hopping and enjoy the sea food.  At that time, news of Hepatitis A was given quite an exposure in the papers and so I refrain from eating sea-food with shells.  Our tour guide was a local chinese and he told us that they cannot afford to go out visiting like us.  The local coffee shop still serves "bottled" drinks and recycle the bottles.  I feel like I am back to my childhood in 1970's Singapore.

My dept has decided to go for a trip in 2001.I suggested Club Med Bintan cause I have heard about Club Med being full of fun as games & activities are constantly being organised thru-out the day & night (Info fr Kate). Also, a colleague of mine (Sheon) was a G.O. in Club Med Bali and I too hear stories fr her. Club Med Bintan was quite quiet when we were there in Jan 2001. It was not what I have expected. It could be that Jan is not the season for water sports (which are closed). Still, I enjoy the food and the trapez which I have been looking forward to.

Sekilak is a kelong in Indonesia. It rents out rooms for visitors and provides water sports too. A quiet place for relaxing. The seafood is sumptous too.
SEKILAK
My first try at trapez. Guan Sim is climbing up
Watching sunset while having seafood dinner
We did archery, play volley ball & badminton, did the trapez, swam in the evening, watch the night show & night trapez all within a day & was dead tired. I never felt my body ache so much
