Beautiful and Dangerous
By Kenny Young
You come to me to dance on the razor's edge
Afraid you'll cut your feet if you spin on the brink alone.
I am the figure of ancient Pan, hacked out of ancient stone.
It seems as though my skin's so thick, unflinching at each blow
Is the price I pay in pain enough to buy your ticket to this show?
Remember, when I take the fall
It's your name carved forever on that wall.
Immortality bought with years and tears and suffering
By me.
For you.
Yes, all.
You dip your wing below the surface
And take dark drops to flight.
I am in these waters, still, in this rawness, in this night.
Your muse, your pawn, a tragic tale
By me.
For you?
I might...
To flash like fire in your mind's-eye when you think about our dance
Is thrill to me, I'll cling to it, as it's my brightest chance
To make this madness worth the cost
To pay for what I've lived and lost,
It seems like such a steal
I'll hold you on this razor's edge
Yes me.
For you.
For real.
Our story's not yet done, you see
We've not become what we're meant to be.
So take a chance and dance with me
Just You,
And I,
For We.
