HIDDEN STUFF
Mystery Ink ~ April 2002
For years, fans of Creed have been seeking and finding mysterious, enigmatic clues sprinkled throughout the bands music. Some people diligently worked to interpret these messages and piece them together into a coherent narrative, posting their findings on websites and generating much discussion.

Now, the members of Creed guitarist Mark Tremonti, singer Scott Stapp and drummer Scott Phillips have come clean and unveiled the secrets behind Creed Quest, a game whose mystery deepens the more you know.

In short,
Creed Quest is a game in which fans sort through stories for clues, answer trivia questions about the band and generally tote up points in the hope of winning one of that weeks prizes. A contest, in other words and not an easy one, either.

Part Myst, part Trivial Pursuit and part Road Rules, the
Creed Quest calls not only for persistence but also for deep knowledge of the Creed catalog and good instincts for online gaming. Consisting of eight mini mysteries, each playable for one week, it follows the band on its current Weathered tour. But like everything connected to the Quest, theres nothing obvious about the linkage. Instead, theres just a map with dots on it, and its up to the player to figure out what those dots mean and how they lead into the game.

If youre still confused, fear not pick up a copy of the
April 02 Guitar World,  and all will be revealed. In an exclusive story, Tremonti, Stapp and Phillips help unravel the mystery. There might even be a clue or two buried in the issue itself.
Hidden stuff
Hidden message in "Ode".
Anyone who has heard Ode, track 2 from My Own Prison, knows there's something going on at about 3:02 into the song. There's a bunch of voices scrambled together. The only line anyone has been able to catch for certain is "I have a couple questions for ya...". However, if you listen to the Blue Collar version of Ode, the "hidden message" is more clear. It's still almost impossible to tell what they're saying. Some people conclude that it has something to do with the coordinates on the cover of Human Clay. Others say it's just gibberish. However, I am sure it has to be something important. Why would they put something unimportant in there like that?
Human Clay coordinates
On the US version of the Human Clay artwork, there's a little somethin-somethin going on... On the inside of the flap (it's hard to explain where it is, but if you look around hard enough, you'll find it) there's coordinates displayed. N30 14' ?.7 W084 00' ?.4 You're thinking WHAHH?? I typed these coords in at an atlas website, and a satellite map appeared - it's just miles outside of tallahassee, where creed started out. It is said that this is where Creed burried some stuff. However, i'm sure you noticed there are some coords missing. Some people say that they are stated in the hidden message of ode. No one knows for sure...
Children Laugh and Play
Ever since the release of Human Clay, people have wondered what the the meaning is of the children "cracking the whip" in the artwork. Well, we know that Mark Tremonti's brother, Dan Tremonti, created the artwork. We also know that Dan lives in Chicago, IL. I recently found a picture of a statue in Chicago that looks exactly like this.  Mystery solved. Well, maybe there is still some meaning of it we don't know about. But, at least we know where it came from.
Are you ready?...for another message?
Besides messages in Ode, One, and the Blue Collar version of Sister, there are also vocals in "Are You Ready" that we can't quite understand. Some fans have downloaded the clip from My Own CREED Prison and then used an audio editor to take out some of the music, so it's mostly vocals left. It's still pretty hard to understand.
Another great site to visit and delve deeper into these and many more Creed mysterious is My Own Creed Prison, The hidden stuff chronicals.  I can read for hours on this site and still not be half through.  This guy has done his homework and has some very interstesting theories.  But you be the judge.  Good luck.
