After a hard night of partying (haha), I'm surprised I feel pretty energetic. Five and a half hours of sleep, a cup of hazelnut coffee later, Vicki is still functioning! Anyway, the surprise party for Mel was enjoyable. It nearly backfired when Lemonde and Richter came too early - but good save by Lemonde and my sis. ;o) I didn't even hear Steph come in from the back, but Gilbert arrives, my sister "gets a drink for him," and then Steph pretty much appeared with the cake and a song. Mel was defintely surprised. And everyone was delighted with the nice box of wrapped siu yeuk! The study will definitely have a second part - so one more meeting at Gilbert's this coming Monday.

Well, there are only two days left at work. One and a half, really. It's been slow this week. I've had about 3 students all this week, all on Monday. The major English exams were on Tuesday, both of which I proctored, and it's been pounding away at the catalogue ever since. I'm going to miss it here at Seneca - all the hijinx, tutors, freaked out students. But then again, I'm coming back in September. ;o) Or at least I'm assuming so! We're having our tutor dinner at Moti Mahal on the last day. I'm looking forward to it!

Hmm... I hope that I'll get to hang out with the Mok-Leung crew tonight. We'll see what happens. Alright, I should get back to doing something worthwhile at work. :oP I'll ttyl!

Switchfoot was amazing! Not only are they good in the studio, they are also excellent on stage. Marianne and I had a great time at the Kool Haus. I'm actually used to bigger venues, but it's pretty neat to be 10 metres away from the guys. They played all but 2 songs from The Beautiful Letdown, and they even did the song New Way To Be Human. Jon was saying how they were playing it for the old schoolers... hehe, I feel old or something. ;o) Copeland opened for them, and did a 45 minute set. They're not bad either, and judging from their lyrics (ie. using the word "righteous", among other words), they're Christian too. I love the Christian infiltration into the masses! I hope Switchfoot (and Copeland too) will become bigger, and bring Christ into the music world.

Anyway, being the music freakazoid that I am, I bought myself a lovely TBL tee and a sticker for the guitar case. Can't wait to go home to stick it on tonight! And I think I'll wear my tee tomorrow. :o)

Well, I should get going. I'll ttyl!

Happy Easter, everyone! My long weekend has been filled with many outings so far - yesterday to Niagara's Canada One Outlet Mall (where I got socks... yay!?), and today to First Markham Place for some yummy Shanghainese food. There was also the cantata at church last night. It was pretty good, except for the mic troubles, and the usual off-tunedness. But of course, I've come to appreciate that it's the heart that counts.

Anyway, I just wanted to post up a little something that Caryn sent me way back in January. It's an excerpt from Faith On The Eduge, one of the books of the day at Urbana.

I follow Jesus because I need healing. My obedience isn't about being religious, noble or good. Jesus said that He came not for the righteous but for the sick. I am not righteous. I am sick. I need Him to do things in my life that I cannot. I need Him becaue I am a broken, wounded, wounding person. Every day I need Him to give me a clue about how to live life. I need Him to show me how to treat others with decency and goodness. I need Him to guide my life, to give me hope. I need Him to encourage me along the journey, to pick me up when I fall down. I am glad Jesus came for the sick, because He came for me.

SONG OF THE MOMENT

You try to run just as fast as you can
But hurry, they're getting close
You run out of breath from you fighting their hands
They're tearing at your clothes
You try to look for a place you can hide
But there's no room left in your mind
You see a friend who's just standing in line
To help you get out in time
Waiting, watching over you

Just leave all your things
I'll take you away from the things that you knew before
Beautiful boy
Carry the weight of the world
Beautiful girl

We'll turn your nightmares back into dreams
First you've got to close your eyes
Then you'll get another chance to redeem
But they'll recognize your disguise,
We'll have to back to that moment in time,
When you couldn't see the light
The night it took over your body and mind
Without an end in sight
Waiting, watching over you

Just leave all your things
I'll take you away from the things that you knew before
Beautiful boy
Carry the weight of the world
Beautiful girl
Nothing's the same as before
Beautiful boy

You're tired of running so you turn to fight
It's you up against yourself
Now you can see in your eyes there's a light
A love that you've never felt

Take you away from the things that you knew before
Beautiful boy
Carry the weight of the world
Beautiful girl
Nothing's the same as before
Beautiful boy

Can't stay on long, mom needs the computer to do her Sunday School stuff for tomorrow. Anyway, I had a lovely surprise evening with Niette, who was home for the weekend before exams start. We watched The Order together, and it was a weird movie. It ended too abruptly, and the hero turns... well, bad, I guess. Boo... anyway, I enjoyed the evening nonetheless. Thanks for calling me up, Nie!

Yesterday, there was no fellowship due to the electricity being turned off at church because of renovations. So I got to stay home and watch Joan of Arcadia, and go out to Second Cup with Becca. Last night's Joan was cool. Just like every other episode. Sappy, but satisfying ending. :o) Adam and Joan are so cute together. I hope they keep the show clean, not like every other teen drama there is.

Well, daylight savings time means I miss an hour of sleep. And mom needs the computer, like I said. So I better get going! Take care, everyone!
