installed)
I've owned the car since DEC 00
(purchased @ 84k miles)... haven't had any major issues, I've had to
replace the alternator twice, the first time (the original replacement
died less than a month, the second- was a dud: I went thru ford the
second time, no problems since (2 years ago))... New radiator '01, I
replaced the fuel pump & convertible motor sometime in '02 (both
brand new)... Brake job 12k miles ago, transmission flushed twice since
I've owned it (first: at time of purchase, last: aprox 7k miles ago)...
There are however a quite a few
[little things] that I've "let go" the last couple years, as I use this
car as a commuter (back and forth to work) my main priority is the
engine/tranny, all the other "little things" were not a priority, which
are listed below:
-Convertible TOP (right hand side) does noot latch (when top is up)....
A peice of the metal assembly is bent.
-Crack in Windshield
(pretty big) hasn't grown since it started (18months ago or so)
-Tires are going to need to be replaced sooon (3yrs old)
-CIG Lighter Receptacle does not work (butt I do have a replacement I
purchased, but haven't installed)
-Doors don't lock (needs
new actuators) a cheap fix (50resto)
-Door handle (passenger side) is
difficult to open from outside (think the spring fell out)
-A rather large hole on the
convertible top (drivers side, near the rear window). (see picture)
-Glove box does not open (the key mechanissm needs replacement)
Recently I got into a minor fender bender (if ya can call that; swerved
into median to avoid hitting a car, instead I hit a tree... look @
pix): the left hand side of the car is damaged in 2 places:
-Door Jam Area (hit the worst) paint is okk, but it is heavily indented,
needs to be hammered out... door opens like 40'o or so...
-Rear bumper area (HEAVY paint scrapage + minor indentation) + tailpipe
was hit, causing it to rub against the tire.
I haven't driven the car since this "accident"... which was only a few
days ago, however; I have decided to JUST SELL IT,.. let the next
person (restore it/fix what I haven't), which was my sole intention a
couple years ago... too much has come up (life, new job, moving, etc)..
I don't have the time or energy to invest in this kind of project.... I
