Ricky Griffith: Co MVP last year advanced to MOC in the 3200 placing 7th in 9:47. He hadnt really had many chances to run a more competitive 3200 in the season but nonetheless he is now a top returnee in that event. He ran to a 1600 meter pr 4:26 @ the BSAL League Finals. Jesse Baldridge: Jesse didn't qualify past BSAL in the 3200 this year due to its suprising depth. However he did run to a near 10 second PR in the 1600 with a 4:40 run @ D-Fest. Nahoa Moya-Smith: Nahoa had a huge season erupting on the NCS scene as a 800 meter runner to be reckoned with. Nahoa ran 2:00 in the BSAL Prelims and ran a solid leg on the 4x400. He advanced to MOC in both events Dyaln McCalmont: Dylan ran very well this year PRing in the 1600 @ D-Fest with a 4:42. He also brought his 3200 PR down to 10:20. Dylan advanced this year to the Bayshore Area Championships this year. MArc Laszlo: Laszlo, our resident quartermiler pulled his hip-flexor @ the early season Twilight Relays. He struggled the rest of the season to revoer but did manage to make the 4x400 team and helped them to the MOC prelims. Before his injury he achieve PRs of 52 in a relay split and 2:09 @ a DVC All-Comers in December. 11/27/04: The State Meet. Piedmonts 5th ranked boys realized that ranking and finished 5th overall and #40 in all divisions. That ain't too bad. Mark Ceraldi medaled finishing 7th overall and running the 13th fastest sophomore time of the day. Ricky Griffith was the 2nd Highlander through the chute with a 16:24. Jesse Baldridge ran a 16:39. No Piedmont boy was a stranger to a PR even though it was raining cats and dogs. The girls did finish 10th which is quite good considering the loss of so many senior last year. Naomi Sparks was Piedmonts top finisher placing 15th. |
