However, in such scenes RV9's "smooth out the background a bit and focus on the foreground objects" approach pays off. This was also apparent at scene changes when XviD had a slight tendency to show a lot of blocks for a split second. While the effect was also present in DivX5 and SBC it was most visible in XviD.
