| Welcome to the AMDB. Since our earliest forays into the medium in 1995 when we published The Australian Movie Disc: The Centenery Edition CD to commemorate one hundred years of Aussie film, we have built the current database with simply one aim - to have inarguably the most comprehensive Australian film reference work there is. In as much as we now list better than 1,200 aussie titles more than the IMDb itself (read as a 35% mark-up) it would be fair to say, we're getting there! There are more than 4000 titles listed, including telemovies, mini-series and pilots but excluding for the most part, TV shows (of which the IMDb includes just under 1000) We have however cross-linked several actors with the IMDb so that any interested film buffs may review their international work also. In the case of luminaries such as Russell Crowe, Nicole Kidman, Mel Gibson, Cate Blanchett, Sam Neill, Heath Ledger, Peter Weir and Naomi Watts to name but eight, this facility is not without relevance. |
