| 1/7- Pursuit & Shootout - Colton Colton Police detectives are shot at while following a van onto the freeway. A shootout and pursuit ensued with detectives firing their MP-5 submachine gun out the window of their car in a residential neighborhood. Bullets strike a cash and carry business and the driver of the van. This photographer arrested. Observed police officers beating a handcuffed suspect and push away a Press Enterprise staff photographer, who like me was just trying to take pictures and document the incident. | 2/17 - Children Drown in Pond - Santa's Village Area, San Bernardino National Forest A family outing to the mountains turns tragic when several famly members venture onto an ice covered pond, the ice broke and two of the children are trapped in the icy water and drown. | 4/19 - High School Student Stabbed - Colton After school a student was stabbed across the street from High School. The male student ran back to the school to seek help and sanctuary after being stabbed. |
| 4/28 - 150 Car Pile Up - Interstate 10 One of the largest multi vehicle crashes in California History, involved several groupings of crashes which stretched for miles through at least three cities. Photography of trapped victims, truck on fire, etc. First news photographer on scene. Led the news on the following stations. KCBS; KTLA; KABC; KCAL; KTTV; also aired on Fox Network. |

A heavy down pour created severe flash floods in mountian area causing creaks in Forest Falls to rage with water, mud and boulders. Several homes destroyed, multiple victims, one death. | 8/19 - Pursuit, Simulated Pipe Bomb Found in P/U Truck - Corona / Hwy 91 KCBS, KTLA, KABC, KCAL, KTTV. This is the pursuit in which KTLA reporter Stan Chambers was injured when his vehicle rolled over. I was at the front of the pursuit and did not shoot anything on that accident. |
