| 3/15 - San Bernardino - Police Officer shot, suspect killed. A San Bernardino Police officer responding to a domestic disturbance called was shot shortly after arriving at the home. Another officer returned fire wounding the man who died in the yard of the home several minutes later. Photography of officer being taken out of Ambulance at Loma Linda University Medical Center, who's security officer censored and threatend this photographer. | 4/3 - Fontana - Kids joy ride in Family car, Crash into Phone Pole. 3 Children ages 10, 8 and 2 take the family station wagon for a drive around the block but crash head on into a telephone pole sending all three to the hospital. Provided to KCAL 9. |
| 4/10/01 - Fontana/Rialto - Multi Vehicle Accident I-10 A series of 6 multi vehicle accidents occured at the same time along Interstate from Cedar Ave to Cherry Ave. Similar to a 150 car pile up which happened in 1999 (also covered by me) when drivers were blinded during or just after a rain shower and the setting sun broke through the clouds. | 4/23 - Colton - Child Dies in House Fire A two year old boy was killed when his familys home caught fire early Monday afternoon. The rest of the family escaped but were taken to LLUMC for smoke inhalation treatment. Photography - just after fire extinguished, firemen taking break, bringing out hose, investigation, scene. | 5/4 - Fontana - Trench Rescue Two construction workers were trapped by dirt at a school construction site near Heritage Park. One freed himself however the other was covered up to his shoulders. | 5/13 - San Bernardino - Child killed by Elderly Driver A three year old boy was killed Mothers Day in front of his home, while playing in the street on a quiet cul-de-sac - 4 houses long. An elderly woman driver who lives on the same street literally ran over the boy. According to police she stated that the sun was in her eyes and she did not see the child. | 5/8 - Riverside - Toddler Drowning A one year old boy falls into family pool and drowns. A neighbor pulled the child from the water and began CPR. Paramedics at scene work on child for several minutes and transport the boy to a local hospital. They were performing CPR while taking him to the ambulance. | 6/1 - Redlands - Teacher Dies from Meningitis An elementary school teacher dies suddenly from spinal meningitis. Co-workers, students and parents saddened by the loss, concern over ease of contracting this deadly virus and who else might have been exposed. Aired on KNBC, KABC, KCAL, KTTV. |
| 6/4 - Big Bear - Plane Crash A handicapped student pilot, taking lessons from a flight school in Big Bear specializing in training handicapped individuals, reportedly encountered flight problems and crashes into a large pine tree while trying to return to the airport. The man who was from England died instantly. Aired KABC, KCAL. |
| 6/5 - Colton - Meth Lab Explosion with Burn Victims Four people were burned when the meth lab they had in their home exploded causing the house to catch fire. Two passing motorists were called hero's by the police for rescuing the people who were trapped in the house. Aired on KNBC, KABC, KCOP. |
| 6/19 - Cajon Pass x Hwy. 138 - Brush Fire "Baldy Fire" A brush fire burns along side I-15 and Hwy. 138. 100 + acres some very good close up air tanker drop shots. Aired on KABC. |
| 7/11 - Twin Pines/Poppet Flats, Hwy. 243 - Brush Fire "Silent Fire" A fast moving fire threatens the communitys of Poppet Flats and Twin Pines on Mount San Jacinto. Fire crews stage engines to protect homes and to keep fire from crossing the highway, homes evacuated. Photogrpaphy: The head of the fire moves toward a home as wind whips the flames to 30 foot lengths and consumes the vegetation near the home. A Crew watches as the flames approach and talk about what to do and get into a saftey position. A firefighter with a shovel throws dirt on spot fires in dry grass next to the house. | 7/27 - Glen Helen Brush Fire "Shelby Fire" A freight train started a series of small fires which combined into one large brush fire burning over 600 acres primarily up a mountain side near I-15. The fire briefly threatened one home and several horses in corrals. | 7/28 - Woodcrest Double Fatal Accident A woman swerves to avoid traffic slowing due to bales of hay that had fallen from a truck and slams head on into a van. Both drivers are killed instantly. |

| 12/31 - San Bernardino - Fatal Car Jacking A 42 year old Riverside woman was killed in front of Donut Master at Highland and D streets. After purchasing her donuts she was accosted at her car by a latino male, she struggled into her car and according to witness's the man then methodically took aim and fired several bullets into the woman through the driver window. He then pulled her from the car and drove away the victims car was found at Baseline & G streets less than 2 miles away Aired: KCBS, KNBC, KCAL, KCOP. |
