What is Photo Surgery?
Photo Surgery is another way of saying photo editing. What it entails is removing a person, object, or background from a photo. In this case we are working with a digital copy of your photo. Your photos are not harmed in any way, shape, or form. Photo Surgery is also used for fixing damaged parts of a photo. With Photo Surgery, we can copy a healthy part of the same portion of a photo and "paste" it onto the damaged portion. Almost the same principle as skin grafting. "Grafting" is widely used for photo restorations, but also used for "removing" or "plastering over" unwanted portions of a photo.
What is Photo Fun?
Photo Fun is just that: fun with photos! We can take your very own photographs and do some fun things with them. A wonderful gift idea. Have something in mind? Let us know about it. We are here for you. We pride ourselves in our ability to be flexible, letting YOU decide what you want done. Whether it's a 10 person family collage, a restoration, or a humorous design like the samples shown on our Photo Fun page. Just remember when ordering, to include a detailed description of the work you want done. If we have any further questions, we will contact you. Our main objective here at Photo-Medic is to please YOU! We want you to be completely satisfied. If you're not happy, we're not happy.
Do you do framing?
At this time, we do not have a wide variety of frames to offer. Our best advice to you is to purchase your very own frame(s) from a local retailer. You would have a much wider selection to choose from, and they would be less expensive. Something that we can do is overlay a matt (border) around your photo in any color you would like, for a really nice touch. Click HERE to see an example.
How do I send my photos?
Send your photos preferably in an 8x10 or 9x12 envelope or mailing pouch and protect your photos by inserting a hard 'card board like' structure inside. This will protect them from bending while in transit. Send them to:
Norman Ratliff
384 East Salisbury Street
Denton, North Carolina 27239
Photo-Medic will not be responsible, in any way, for lost or damaged photographic material sent to Photo-Medic.
Will my photographs be returned to me?
All photographs sent to us will be returned in the same condition as recieved along with your order. We will handle your photos with the best of care. All items purchased from us are shipped via UPS or US Express/Priority mail. It is very important when placing an order, to provide us with your email address also.
What payment options do you offer?
Currently we only accept U.S. currency i.e. Money Orders, Cashier's Checks, and Personal Checks. (work will begin when personal checks clear). Make your checks and money orders payable to: Norman Ratliff. Please don't forget to include your check or money order with your photographs.
Can I have my photos put on a T-Shirt?
Yes you can. We offer Hanes Beffy T's. You can have your Photo-Medic collage, Photo Fun design, or any other picture product you purchase from us put onto a T-Shirt. Cost for a Photo-Medic T-Shirt is $15.00. These T-Shirts are really a hot item!
What is the turn around time for collages?
3 to 7 business days from recieving your order. You can check the status of your order by contacting us at: [email protected] Please include your name, daytime phone # and the kind of item purchased.
Why are restorations more expensive than collages?
Unlike Collages or Photo Fun designs, restorations need repairing by a trained skilled technician. This may include adjusting contrasts, repairing tears and rips, yellowing or faded portions of the photo. It is a much more complex service, and requires much more skill and labor.
Can you fix a blurry or unclear photograph?
We have found by years of experience that although you can make a photo somewhat clearer, you cannot make a sharp photo out of one that is unclear or blurry. It is most important that you send us clear, sharp, focused photos for your collages, photo fun, etc. Unless it is a very old photograph that you would like restored. We will do our best at bringing your photo back to life! Guaranteed it will look better than its original state. But we cannot guarantee clear, sharp designs from unclear photographs.
Can I choose a background for my collage?
Sorry but we don't have an extensive catalog to choose from at this time. What you can do is tell us what you have in mind. We will do our best to accommodate your request with the photo stock / designs we have in our database. If we have any further questions regarding your order, we will contact you. Should you have further questions or ideas for your order, don't hesitate to call us at 1-336-859-0264 or email us at: [email protected]
Will the photos that I send be delivered promptly and with care?
Yes. If you choose a reputable carrier. We recommend that you use UPS or US Express/Priority mail for your shipping needs. They have proven to be very reliable.
Where are you located?
We have moved from Grundy Virginia. We are located in the Denton area of North Carolina.
Can you tell me about Photo-Medic?
Photo-Medic was started by myself - Norman Ratliff. I'm no computer genius, nor have I taken a bunch of college classes on them. What I know has been self-taught. It started as just a hobby, and people seem to really like the work I do, so I thought, why not offer it to more people? So that's how Photo-Medic came to be.
How do I care for my Photo-Medic T-Shirt?
When caring for a Photo-Medic T-Shirt, we highly advise that you wash them by hand. This will preserve the life of the transfer T-Shirt. Fold it inside out and place the transfer on a hard surface face down. Wash the back of the transfer with a soft brush or sponge. Putting your Photo-Medic T-Shirt in the washer and dryer may result in severe cracking of the transfer.
