Born in Quincy, MA I consider myself a Boston girl at heart. I have spent almost all of my life living in Massachusetts and as of now and content to keep doing so. This winter has deterred me a little, but as I always say without the winter we wouldn't be able to enjoy the summer. Massachusetts is great because it is close to the water, but it is also close to mountains. Sure there are better mountains in the west, but since I'm not a crazy skier or hiker I am content to hang out with the appalachian trail. Massachusetts also has Boston, which for me is the perfect size city. Though if I ever feel like I need to be overwhelmed I can take a trip down to New York City, though why would I ever want to do that. I feel that until this year I have never really experienced all that Boston has to offer, since I have been down in Washington DC for the past 4 years. The more I'm getting to know the city the more I'm enjoying it, and although there are other places I would love to live for a short amount of time, I think in the end I will come back to the city of my birth.
12-06: It's hard to read the previous passage and realize that I am not in Boston right now. I have moved down to Rhode Island, at least for the time being. Rhode Island is beautiful, but I definitely miss Boston for so many reasons. The big one is the diversity of food options. I miss great Indian, Vietnamese, Mexican, Japenese, and of course Burger joints. |
