I have been
researching the LLOYD surname.
I have researched back
to James Lloyd, born before 1790 and died before Jun 4, 1838 in Camden Co. Georgia. I think his father was
Benjamin Loyd, born before 1771 in Virginia. James is said to
have come to Georgia as a young man in the early 1800's. I think he may have been married before he arrived, because he is in the 1810 Camden Co census with small children. He
married Susanna Wingate, a local girl, in
1822.
If
anyone out there has this surname in their family tree, I would
love to hear from you and exchange information.
