ABOUT ME
My name is Kat. I am from a little hole in the wall town in California. I grew up in the Missionary Baptist Churches and was saved at the age of 6. Being in church and involving myself in the activities has been foundational in my life. I am so thankful to my parents who raised me with the knowledge of who Jesus is. At a young age, my parents realized that I had a gift for singing and a love of art. I would spend many hours with my pencil in hand drawing my mini masterpieces but I would give them to those around me who meant the most to me, which frustrated my mother to no end. I continued to pursue my artwork and found a passion for it as I entered into high school. I was given the opportunity to take some art classes and found that it as just what I had been looking for. I had the great fortune to be able to enter an art class taught by an amazing teacher who to this day, I feel utmost gratitude. I own much of my ablities to her guidance and patience. At the same time, as a child, I was often put into singing choirs, singing solos for the church programs, and I loved being in the center of attention. My mother and father taught me when I was young how to listen and sing harmony. This had been an invaluable gift that I could never repay. I'm so thankful for the teaching of my parents. I put my singing aside when I entered high school to pusue my art, but never forgot my love for singing southern gospel music. Once I entered college, I joined the Community Choirs and the Chamber Ensemble which has been a blast. I currently am sketching portraits and attending a JC in my town continuing my vocal studies. I am also a part of a local Southern Gospel Quartet called The Pacific Praise Quartet. We are in the process of putting our songs together and making plans to start traveling to churches to sing. Keep our ministry in your prayers. If interested in my drawings or perhaps interested in having a portrait done, email me at the link on the home page and prices can be discussed. Also, check out my link to some pictures of my artwork. .
