You see it on /cg all the time. People trying to get together groups for the Chaos Plane or Noob Rock, or Trans 1, Trans 4, or even Trans 7. What the heck are they talking about?
The following is a guide to help you acclimate to your first time on the Chaos Plane.
Who � Anyone over level 50. (Preferred Classes Here)
What � A number of floating small islands with lots of Shadow creatures, connected by portals.
When � CP fellowships are going on all the time, just wait for a tell on /cg.
Where � The NE stairway in the Chaos plane.
Why � Fast killing and great xp
The Chaos plane �rocks� are a number of floating stationary islands that you encounter when you enter the portal at the top of the NE stairs. The rocks are all like medium sized platforms that have Shadow monsters on them intent on killing you. Use the map Below of the portals to navigate the rocks.
SAFE ROCK - When you first enter the Chaos plane from the stairs, you are on �Safe Rock�. This is a rock that has three portals on it leading to different places, but no mobs. This is where fellows will often form. The portal to safe rock is not recallable.
NOOB ROCK - This is a rock that has 4 low level mobs on it. Although they are still deadly they do not have the armor or hit capability of the Transmogrified Shadows you will encounter later. If you enter this portal by standing near it and using �f� there is a chance that they will not notice you when you pop. However, the chance is about 50/50. Let the mezzers go first.
SAFE ROCK 2 � This is another rock with no mobs on it. Its purpose appears just to be to let you regain health before you go on to wisp rock.
WISP ROCK � Wisp rock is another location where people form fellows. This is because the portal that gets you here is recallable and summonable. When you first pop on this rock from the portal the wisp will hit you one time. But with two steps backwards you will be out of his range and he won�t follow you. Just two steps backwards, don�t turn first.
From wisp rock it is possible to jump down to Noob rock. When you first see it you will think �Hey Acer is nuts!� But with a running start you will just catch the edge of the rock Again, might want to send the mezzers first.
TRANS 4 - Trans 4 means that there are 4 Transmogrified Shadows on this rock. When you pop here you are guaranteed to be rushed by one mob, but if you are careful entering you can limit what you pull. Use �f� to enter� and of course let the mezzers enter first.
The back of Trans 4 has portals, I never take them. In fact the CP has other portals that no one takes. As I explore them I will let you know where they go. For now let me say that if you are a noob to the CP you may want to stay at T4 as it is very controllable for the right fellow.
CONTROL OF A ROCK � There are a few keys to control. Mezz adds, No Aoe and Kill as fast as you can. Once you have cleared the rock one full cycle you will start a rhythm of killing and spawning. You may have an occasional pop that needs to be mezzed, but generally the pops are limited if you have enough damage.
TRANS 7 � Only experts need apply. This rock is so hard to set up that only experts do it. In fact Trans 7 is not even on the same stairs, and it is not even a rock. Since you are a noob reading this primer, I will leave Trans 7 for another day.
