Step By Step Painting of A Little Kitty by Flora

How this stone became this stone.

1. Basecoat with white paint & use the brush to sketch the layout of the cat.

2. Use a dry brush and sketch on the stripes.

3. Apply a wash of Raw Umber over the whole stone .. add yellow for eyes & Burnt Sienna for ears.

4. Apply a layer of white fur.. Each time the brush dries, use it to paint a layer dry-brush fur over the previous layer

5. Apply a thicker wash of Raw Umber.

6. Apply 2 layers of white fur as in step 4 above. Use script liner & paint the little fur lines on the inside of the ears. Define the eyes, ears, nose, and muzzle. Use black to lay in the stripes on the face.

7. More fur & more dry brushing.

8. Use Burnt Unber & define the shadows around the haunch, face and tail.

9. Another wash of Raw Umber.

10. More fur using step 4 above.

11. Apply paint over black stripes using method in step 4. Add stripes on face. Add hilight in eyes.

12. More dry brushing all over.

Little Kitty at last!
